Not to be a debbie downer or a TRL505, but it seems like every year has talk of a bunch of big guns showing up that can run the big numbers, but it rarely comes to fruition. If I'm wrong, then kick azz. I hope I am!

Attendance records would be shattered. Here is a short list I have put together from other posts. Please feel free to add to it to come up with a master wish list. Then, maybe we could encourage the organizers to work on getting this bunch together for a grand finally!!
My opinion, the 2012 Shootout was underwhelming compared to 2011. 2013 could be the best ever if all the big boys show up. Just think about

My Way (208+)
Qatar (200+)
40'MTI with 2200s (????)
Sterling Skater (????)
Marine Concept boat (180+)
M41 from DCB (170+)
Bob Boals(sp?) MTI (180+)

An important piece would be to run them consecutively as a grand finally after the "other" boats get done. It would be epic!!!!
dont forget Team CRC

If I were coming from out of town, I would stay near Capt. Ron's and drive to the event. They have a pontoon shuttle out to one of the big multi passenger cruiser boats. I think they charged $30 last year. Beer was $8 at Cpt Rons and like $4 on the boat. I think the big boat has a viewing deck, A/C down below, and bathroom. The pontoons shuttle people constantly back and forth if you wanted to go back to the docks. Unless you know someone with a (big) boat, it is the only way I would do it.
Some of us like it in the bushes, especially in the rain.

LOVE the front of the line for the big bangers.

In 2010 one of the participants told me because there were NO BREAKS in the spectator raft up,
idle time was 45 mins. yikes. Great idea, plus adding some breaks in the line helps also- that thing ran all the way down the course plus a quarter.

Without question my favorite event of the year.
The loss of MYWay before last year's run was probably a bigger blow than normal because there wasn't another big name headliner to fill the space and draw that extra 10-15%. Weather on Sunday started wet and I bet a lot of folks packed it in and left, not realizing it would turn out to be a decent day.

I get pumped every year for this... Escpecially your coverage.

Has anyone heard if MyWay is back in one piece or not?

I would love to chip in on gas and grab a ride but too early to figure that yet. I didn't know they had a large boat with shuttles and drinks. That would be an ok option if I cant get a lift.

Sounds much better than a pontoon lol.
You would be best on the big, observation boat. There are a few of them that do it. They have some very nice, large boats to watch from. You definitely don't want to run a pontoon from Camden to Capt. Rons each day. It's about 30 miles by water. You certaily don't want to make that washing machine run in a pontoon. You would get the chit beat out of you.

I've been to a TON of boating events, poker runs, etc. and the SHootout is by far my favorite, hands down. Look for me, I'll be there.

Not that it will be the fastest but I bet the mystic pleasure boat will be there and it's one of my favorites
