This is a boat forum guys, its supposed to be FUN..and this dude is doing exactly what he wants to do...and does it well.

And I thought I was good at making people mad...lol.
Very true.

The first Statement Cat with Turbine Marine 1500 HP turbine hit the mid 180's mph with Tod, Nick and JT at the throttles.

So far the 1350hp cat has a speed of mid 130's at 5200 rpm pre-boat show testing. (Not close to top speed)
The owner, JT and Nick again will test the 1350 boat on Wed, In Miami for top speed just as they did the turbine boat a couple years ago.
So we will find out the numbers then.
Neither JT or the statement guys have ever manipulated speed numbers on any of their boats. So I am sure we will get an accurate report with, or without video.

The tunnel is a weird shape for sure, but ultimately the theory behind it (don't quote me on it, but just talking to the Statement guys at the show) is that it's highest pressure point in the tunnel is at the CG of the boat. It lifts the boat evenly across the board and very little trim input is required allowing a better thrust line. It also packs air at a much lower speed then conventional tunnels.

The tunnel actually captures the air, and then squeezes it about 6-8' (didn't have a measuring stick) forward of the transom.

Take it for what it's worth Steve.. Don't feel like going 100 rounds like we did on the center pod discussion.
