I would keep looking. A 28 footer with a single 496 is going to be a real dog. Not much fun to drive......

you dont want my boat,,was in a slight fire and bubbled half the gel on the port side,,since i removed the engines and drives and gimbals then ran out of money ..SOS would rather let it sit and keep what ever money i have in the bank until this economy picks up..but a 336 is a great riding boat and if you look you can find them real reasonable..

this one reads needs interior but it looks like a good cleaning would get you by for a few yrs,,no trailer..23k

we cant all afford the finer things in life ....

But he will be able to go out and have fun in that 28 PQ with the slow 496 when the water kicks up to 2-3+footers while your sitting at the pier with your fast 22 foot boat with that 525...

One could always add a 5 blade to help acceleration and make the ride fun.......just saying.

So is so stupid to say. Wow. You obviously don't know what these boats are capable of. The OP can do better IMO.

One of my favorite boats ever made and they are pretty capable for a 22' boat. But they are still a 22' boat.

yea ok,,,

we all know you bought your boat and it had a 496 and you did not like it so you swapped the engine with a 525,,,GREAT!!!!!

but every time there a thread that has to do with a 496 you come on and talk bad about the 496s...just because you did not like it that does not make them bad engine,,,they are actually very reliable engine...so please give it a brake.....

My 496 is going on its 9th season and 400 hours with zero problems. Runs like the day it was new. Got a buddy with a 3/4 ton 'Burb with the 8.1L in it with over 100K on it that he uses to tow his 33 Outlaw. I think he has put a crankshaft position sensor in it and that is it. Pretty good motors for what they are.
