Rob after my 25 checkmate, I bought a 28 with twin 502 Mags and with Bravo 1s it had WAY to much stearn lift and the boat would chine and plow at the same time. Hard to drive and unpredictable. went back to turned up 27 Mirages, and the bow ran up nice no chine and ran mid 80s bone stock. do you have the Kplanes and Hyd steering? I would recomend talking to Mercury racing about making you a custom prop. I have used the exclusivly for the past 20 years, right know thay made me a set of special 32s runing 9% slip. How deep is the drive?

8 pages of responses and only two vague references to good Ol' TrippleDouche......
PS. my vote goes to Geoo's tricked out X18 Donzi at 120+. That thing is an engineering marvel.
Last time I saw it live, we were in the 1000 Islands for a Donzi Run. The weather had been ****ty for most of the day, but cleared up late afternoon. Geoo was laying down 100 MPH passes in front of Boldt Castle and the Coasties weren't budging off the dock. We went out in a Classic 22 and promptly got stopped. The were friendly enough, gave us a warning and asked us to pass the message on to our friend in the smaller Donzi, cause there was no way they were coming out to try to catch him.....

I have tried every kind of prop on my single with decent hp and never could get a mirage pkus to ever work, would always break loose once it went into boost and slip in the 30% plus range, will be interesting to see if you can make one work. A friend of mine runs a 27 3 blade on his sunsation with near stock power, if you haven't found one to try when we talk I will borrow it for you, Smitty

I've personally driven a Laveycraft 28 EVO with an Ilmor 710 to its top speed of 105mph. That same 28 EVO now has a GT1200 in it and has seen 118-120mph.
I've also driven a Lavey 2750 cuddy open bow with 1000hp to 100mph, I believe its best speed so far has been 105mph
