What year 35? We had a similar problem with a customers 01 (I think...tall windshield, big steps) 35. 500efis and whipples....would get really out of shape in the high 90s.

Great thread. Especially loving the Checkmate stories for obvious reasons.

Yes Great closure for me. Thanks to 82Predictor's detective work!! I never said much about it to people because they would think I was nuts!

We had an 800 in a ZT280 that was extremely stable at 96 too. With a custom mirage plus 29 that boat handled great...put a bravo 1 on it and be ready to drive!

2004..... it's fine up to about 100 and then gets real out of shape. The boat actually settles down on it's own around 108. I'm running a set of 5b Maximus props but they don't carry the bow very well. I want to try a set of of Herings with a bit more rake and surface area. I was told by one of the best Fountain guys out there that all 35s like mine will do the same thing. It will take some time but I'm sure I'll get it to be more manageable. But first things first...... gotta get the race boat ready for Biloxi

I have a 2000 272 Baja that has ran 100 mph, that is its fastest though on its best run ever, smallest pulley, 20 gallons of gas, no extra weight on board. Will run mid 90's any day of the week with 3/4 tank gas, cooler and a couple passengers, Smitty

JimV's straight bottom 1992 27' Fountain, 565cu" NA 783HP scares the heck out of 100mph. Ran over 100mph with a blower.
