Birch, I had an early '90's Formula......best boat I ever owned. Totally reliable. It was kinda special as it ran over 70 mph on GPS. I now have a '97 312 Formula....love the boat, the ride, the speed.....I just have one engine that is a constant headache!! So, I do recommend twins on Michigan.... my old boat went to Wisconsin......

Hey, welcome to the board !
YOu can't go wrong with any of the names above but it's all in what you want . Start spending time on these boats now and get a feel for them . They are all diferent and have different comforts ( or none ). I woould say spend the rest of the summer figuring out which one is best for you .Then get one over the winter or late this fall . Good luck .
