The 43 with 725 lmors went 118.... It's definetly attainable that the 40, 3 feet shorter with better hull technology will be able to hit 120.

the Merc 700s are notoriously underrated, they make 750 or so...blowers, more torque than the 725 ilmor...so it should run that speed...

The OL crowd is pretty smart. See most guys on here brag about how much HP they're making, and then when the boat goes out and doesn't run for crap, the boat gets a bad rep. The OL guys always understate their power, then it makes the boat look that much more impressive......Dustin prolly got his comp hooked to an OL as we speak

Nevermind, read it wrong. Not all OLs are over inflated for power. If you're stock most of the time they run within a few mph of each other...each setup is a tad different.

The article of the "skater cigarette" failed to mention until pointed out the boat had worked 700s...Zolacks I believe it was. Few people neglect to mention their have worked engines. Not all..

Naa, it's just the same chit all the time about OL, they do this, they do that, dare say that to any other manufacturer and they're all lilly white...

Please tell me which royal piece of sh!t cat with twin 700s only runs low 120s. Any cat of similar size worth its name will easily run above 130 with that power.

Not to detract from this thread... OL does seem to be closing the gap.

Obviously not answering that question which would imply I think a twin 700hp 120mph cat is a POS b/c thats not the case.

Do some homework, ask around I know of 2 & neither are POS.
