After watching the three boats come charging by the scene of the recovery at 2.42 I have to seriously wonder at the judgement exhibited.

That should have been an automatic no-wake.

Wow

We all love to go fast, but he should have backed off the throttles a bit! He let his EGO get in the way of good judgement!

I have a question.

When this happens, why not agree to deploy a colored (red) smoke signal so that all oncoming traffic knows to slow, avoid, or stop and assist? I understand this may not be feasible to have on every boat, but it may just save a life if oncoming traffic were informed.

How would they know with no signal, smoke, or anything?

They were a following pod well behind to actually see the event happen, so it could have been a number of things. When they are coming up they are going pretty hard on the throttle. I am betting some didn't even register what they might have saw when going by untill after the fact.

Easy to arm chair when were not in the situation.

Absolutely, I am so glad to see everyone that was around it stopped to help. But yes, anyone a minute or two behind would have zero clue what was going on.

There were at least three helicopters circling and the incident was in the middle of what was the course.

Two seconds earlier and they would have been on top of the boat crossing the lake.

Making excuses for keeping the throttle open when they obviously should have slowed is the ultimate arm chair quarterbacking IMO.

It's not like it's a race!

Not here to give opinions or do any armchair quarterbacking... only HUGE KUDOS to JT for getting out of the throttles that quickly and safely and rushing back to help another boater!!! Thanks for the video RAYLAR!
