Default Need your advise on Vacation

In Oct im getting married and me and my old lady want to go to the carribean as we love thr tropics. We are between Aruba & Barbados. I have never been to either but i'm different things about both. Some like one a lot more than the others. We are looking for a nice, fun, night life but also want nice scenery. I hear some say Barbados is a lil ghetto and i some say it's a real tropics island which Aruba doesn't offer. I know Aruba is big in casinos but we don't gamble. If theres any other island you can recommend. Please do as we are open. Maybe " Bob the builder" will chime in. Thanks in advance

St Lucia is nice and if you like all inclusive I would recommend Sndals. My wife and I eloped there. All meals and drinks included. The flight there and back and the transportation around the island is also included. we stayed a week and had our ceremony there. Cake , pictures and everything was on the house. Think for a week of that we paid like 3500 for everything.

First I would suggest, not letting her hear you refer to her as "my old lady" That could make for a "Cold" bed on your honeymoon....... Now on to the vacation... For our Honeymoon we went to Monego Bay Jamacia and stayed at an all inclusive resort. (I think they have renamed several times since) and absolutly had the time of our lives. I booked it through skyauction.com and ended up paying $1200 per person for 7 nights all inclusive, which was a killer deal. If you are on a budget I would check that site out, there are many tropical vacation packages listed every day.

Are you thinking about Barbados and Aruba because they are out of Hurricane alley? I believe St. Lucia is the 3rd that is outside. I got married in the summer and decided between these 3 islands because the wife was worried about the rogue chance of a hurricane hitting. We decided on Aruba. We are no longer together but neither one of us would go back. The tradewinds are one of the most annoying things I have ever dealt with...You cant even put your towel down on your chair for more than a second before it blows away. And because its so windy you dont realize how hot it is and how burnt your skin is getting. After one day in the sun with spf60 on I had to stay under an umbrella the rest of the week(keep in mind I already had my summer tan before we went). We stayed at an all-inclusive called The Occidental...it was OK, but we walked down the beach and definitely saw better options. Rumor is they throw dead horses in the water on the other side of the island to keep the sharks away from the tourists. There was not really much nightlife in town from what we saw...there was next to zero at our resort.

My sister went to St. Lucia a year later on her honeymoon and loved it.

You'll enjoy any part of the Caribbean. Each island has its own flare and personality. You really can't go wrong. I am partial to the British Virgin Islands though (where I am from). Great beaches, restaurants, sailing, diving, etc. Decent night life but not as busy as some of the larger islands. You can visit several islands in the BVI each with a different feel and experience. Happy to answer any questions or assist in anyway. www.bvitourism.com

And just in case you were interested...... We stayed at La Semana in St. Martin on that trip. And on two other trips we stayed at Cap Jaluca and Cuisinart in Anguilla. Both great islands....all good resorts....

I also did the Sonic charter in Johnny's thread. It was a fantastic experience. My wife and I really enjoyed St. Maarten, but after seeing Anguilla for an afternoon, I want to go back for more.

haven't been to the two you mentioned but did go to Curacao for a long weekend and had a great time, lots of beaches and diving and fishing to do, and decent nightlife downtown that isn't tourist trap kind of stuff. I would go back.
