I believe you can deny the locals if you are USCG Documented. Pulling that card probably goes over like a lead balloon!

right it would be like denying to take breathalizer, admits guilt immediately. But even with USCG documentation, if they pull up and already find somebody without a life jacket, run your reg and you are not current, the USCG card probably would get laughed at.

none because they can do a safety check without probably cause. Once your stopped and find no life jacket on a kid, or missing reg, you just sealed your fate

he was talking about me. the boat IS registered in NY. and it wasnt a small child. he weighed more than the life jacket they gave to me for the weekend. not saying i was right by any means. it was just my bada$$ sounding motors that got their attention to come check me out. oh well.

My favorite part of the video is when the cop asked how much the poker run entry fee was maybe he's thinking he and his 1st mate will take the towns CC with a single BA 75 merc and enter it in next years poker run I think I would be OK if that's what the government did with my tax money lol

Seriously i have tried to get adult small jackets to tighten up enough not to slip right over a 100 Lb kids head. It is impossable unless you sew a crotch strap into it similar to a newborns jacket....I have also sent an experienced 100 Lb swimmer into the water on a rough day with a 90 Lb you jacket on and had them not tread water in any way and it kept there head above choppy water.

this is what he looked like. not trying to debate. at this point i could care less. i know what i did wrong. i have 3 tickets telling me. i was not doing the run. i was not on plane. i was not even in gear. just sitting with the boat idling. cracked the throttles to clear out the plugs and starsky and hutch came running over. Life's a b!tch... and then you call your lawyer |
I was here looking for something else earlier today and stumbled on this thread.
I regularly boat in Canadian water and according to the Police that stopped us a couple years ago, as long as you aren't anchored or landed, you don't need to report in.You're considered just passing through. I don't know if that has changed, but I haven't heard anything. I also saw this on another forum and seems relevant to the discussion. Hopefully more States will look at this.: http://www.ohiohouse.gov/republicans...er-freedom-act |

I never had a non registration or a kid without a jacket, don't know where that came from. Im just curious if anyone knows your rights and obligations by law. Are they similar to when you are asked if they could check your car , and you may say no.

Did anybody at the abay run get nailed for being too loud????
|
The exhaust on that hawk does sound badazz
|
Seriously if you were a paid participant in any pokerrun and get nailed by a LEO for noise....the pokerrun organizers need to rethink ever returning to that location for a run
