Jeff, this one was built in 1985, all of the Shadow's were built in Lake Hoptacong, I think they stopped building them around 1990 though. I think the one you are talking about was pulled out of the Shadow molds (Linder/Luhrs) in NJ??? The deck & cockpit/dash appear to be changed from the Orig. Shadow molds, Scream & Fly member "Beer 30" used to own it, he might be able to fill in the Gaps. BTW I think the Shadow had the fastest bottom of all of the challenger/Shadow/Superboats etc. IMHO.

Original Shadows were built from 1981 through 1984...after that there was an break up in the parnership and the molds were "leased out" to a 3rd party with limited talent and no design ability. Many of the original materials were compromised and the molds were badly worn to boot.

I was wondering if Mr. Linder has any idea how many "true" Challenger21's were made? Or even better, how many in what years?

Just bought a 1977 21 Challenger for a new project. Have to pick it up. Lots of pics when I do and of the restoration process.

Absolutely the most beautiful boat ever made, awesome thread! It may be a dream right now but I will own one someday.
