ask Troutly. It's largely due to his "kind".

You can do all those things, you just have to not get caught.

Ironic isn't it? This country was founded to get away from excessive tax burdens, rules and regulations ect.... Slowly are freedom is being chipped away

Inspect is so right on this. It is very frustrating to hear the politicians campaign on a platform of freedom etc. and spend their entire time creating new laws to further restrict our freedom! Very IRONIC!

Our government is trying to protect us from ourselves.

I would agree with nearly all the replies on this matter.
However, it really seems to me a question of blame.
Example-someone commits a crime against someone else, they blame their childhood, etc.
someone spills coffee that OF COURSE is hot on their lap, they sue and blame the wealthy company that served the coffee.
Example close to home: someone buys a brand new outerlimits boat with tons of power and rolls then sinks it within a few days of ownership. Insurance companies blame all of us for owning fast boats. Policies cancelled. Boat builders get nervous. How long will it be before someone sues the boat builder? HTM comes to mind. Great times we live in, eh?
The point is, really, that IMHO, no one is man or woman enough these days to accept responsibility for their own actions, and we as a society have let the courts go along with this rediculous notion.
Sorry for rambling.
