One idiotic question, as I have never went to one of these, is why are these classes speed limited? I thought 135mph was a bit on the low side for speed for the cat class.

its not idiotic... simply put safety and with this as well as many of the other bracket classes there is so many makes and models with different horsepower, it sort of levels the field to allow for a better show for the fans also it brings several boats into 1 class so to speak instead of several classes. IMO being a former spec racer and going back into spec(same motor specs) and former bracket racer, the brackets are actually harder for me as its real easy to mash the throttles down, it takes every bit of strength to pull back
