Too bad about the whole Velocity thing...mine fits in the criteria and I spent well under your budget. Plus it's only a couple 10ths off 80 and will run 75 any day of the week loaded down with stock power. Lol...

Please, share your "info" with the rest of us, I'm chomping at the bit. I'm not sure what your beef is, but humor me and lay it out.

No offense to velocity, or anyone that has one. Yours looks different than the ones I've seen that are newer. When did they change them?

This boat is by far the most boat in your budget:

For the record I'm open to mid 70s boats that don't need much to hit 80...I.e 32/35 fountain.
You pretty much said it right there, 32/35 fountain hold out for a clean one, under 35k shouldn't be too hard, I know a couple guys one who recently picked up a 32 fountain that is very close to stock, (76mph) extremely clean 28k. Another guy I don't know as well picked up a 35 with hp 500s I believe for 26-30k also very clean. both with trailers. I must say getting above 70 with stock power makes a lot less headaches and less expenses all around especially if you have the need for speed. light upgrades, like having your props sized and done, exhaust upgrades, extension boxes should get you to 80 in a 32, if its not already there.

Mine is a 1990. The earlier Steve Stepp boats and some of the Regals (as with mine) were more classic looking in the lines. Early to mid-90's (Thoroughbred/Velocity) Steve changed the decks a bit to reflect what the current ones look like today. They do still make mine, but the deck is different and they call it a 322.
