This is still America right? We are free to make our own individual choices last time I checked. I don`t wear a seat belt.. EVER. Thats MY choice and I don`t care what some Nancy thinks.

Phuck, there must be a lot of open bow Bayliner owners on here that have performance boats listed in there sigs to hide what they really own. Who the Phuck buys a performance boat and doesn't want to run it? Shame if you do and if anyone who organizes a poker run and doesn't want the liability then don't do it!!! What fool that is involved with this type of boating and would put on a poker run and not realize this is gonna happen? Have to be plumb dumb! CONGRATS CP, rock that beetch WFO open everywhere!!!

everyone wants to run in a poker run but they do not want to put one on. I sort of agree with you though Tis why we no longer put on a top event. Lawyers will get you and it is no longer worth taking the liability or having to listen to foul mouth idiots who have no clue about saftey
running hard and fast was always fun with all of my boats but I have learned a thing or two over the years and putting your head in the sand is not responsable. Again Congrats on the great boat build and run. I hope the OP takes his boat to the shoot out and show what it really can do. Would be great to see the numbers that it can be run in a controled event (by the way will have to wear a helmet and life jacket for the event)

My brother was running near him when it happened. He said the driver/owner was an older man with very little boating experience & was driving way too fast & erratically. Everyone got out of his way, when the boat caught a wave & started tumbling.

I'm just going to leave that part of the story right where it is as it doesn't matter at this point what caused the boat to roll... inexperience or ???
As far as having my head in the sand... I never actually posted my personal preference... I just stated that I want it to be MY decision, so if the seas are rough and it makes ME feel safer then I'll wear it, same with the seat belt in my car and a helmet on my head when riding my bike, it SHOULD always be MY choice... PERIOD!

I get it, you ran a great event that helped a lot of kids doing something you loved and then you had to sit in court and listen to how horrible it was that 2 people died and on top of that they want to bankrupt you and all you did was to try and run an event to help kids... I did not always wear my life vests in Poker runs untill after 2005 then it was made painfully clear why they were nessesary (by the way if it werent for the PFD's the other two guys in the accident at our event may not have survived)
Just one more comment --People can run how they want and with or without a life vest when out on any normal day. But in an event, it may not be you that screws up but the guy in the boat next to you (or his boat breaks IE drive , motor, ect...) and then runs over you (see lake Texoma 2006)
When other people are involved I am just saying that Saftey should be parmount because you can not fix stupid you can some time minimize its effects LOL.
