This is a public forum, people have the right to talk about a subject even if some of the member's don't like it.
People can chose to read a thread or not. Never seen such Elementary fights over deleting threads so people can’t read things posted on the internet. Then they actually get locked for no reason.
Its a shame that the 2 where killed in a boating accident this weekend, I feel for both the families as well.
But when did big brother join the forum and become a mod? Its a topic people on here want to discuss, AND THIS IS THE PLACE FOR THAT and yet it they keep being locked down. Deal with it people, when something happens people talk. How the world works.
If you slung your car sideways showing off, and lost it and hit a pole, the people watching will talk. Same when you take a 1/2 million dollar boat and flip it, the boating community is going to talk, but big brother is all upset deleting threads. seems ridiculous.
SO will a mod please answer WHY they lock and delete what rules are broken?

Griff I agree with a lot of what you say but I saw no disrespect to the families. Yes we have video evidence the boats weren't always operated in a safe manner but that isn't disrespectful. No name calling.
Just discussing facts. The majority seem to be on the same page of it not being a closed race course and having the sense to pull the throttles back which doesn't seem to be the norm based on videos.

While I agree, respect for those who suffered recent losses is a must it would be in those family members best interest to stay away from the Forums, Local News & Media in general. I work w/ some of the most popular & successful drivers in NASCAR & if you ask them good bad or indifferent they do their best to avoid reading & or following stories about themselves. They maybe high paid, successful superstars but they are also human w/ real feelings regardless of their success.
The families have way more important things to tend to than to worry about each & everyone of our opinions. They know there loved ones better than any of us could have so they need not worry about what everyone else thinks. I didn't know either gentleman but it appears they were both very well respected & liked within the boating community. Many kind things have been said about each of them as well as respects paid by those who have never met them. Those that are close to their loved ones can summarize the many great posts that have been made on their behalf throughout the Forums in various threads w/o the families themselves having to manage their feelings sifting thru the positive & negative posts.
Just my $02

That discussion was eliciting some very good thoughts, from both sides.
Some good questions were asked, and just about enough video shown to begin to understand the situation.
Maybe the understanding of what happened is what no one really wants to admit.
The discussion will just move over somewhere.
Won't be able to close them all!
That is the internet.
