Steve is one of the classiest guys ever in the boat racing bidness. He has been a champion in every class that he participated in, and has 'given back' by his jobs in the APBA and other organizations. Great guy!

He's a living legend who doesn't act like one, and he has added more to his sport than he has ever taken
Can't say it any better than that, thank you Steve

Steve is a class act, with a warm heart, and a competitive streak that has kept a fire burning in him for decades. His generosity and kindness set him apart from other racing legends and his leadership skills are second to none. He and I have sat on committees together and co-hosted the funniest (he said humbly) Offshore annual banquet in the APBA's history. There are very few people who really impress me and Steve is on that short list.

I am proud to call him friend......

P.S. Steve make the check out to "cash".... and watch out for Trulio, his "man crush" is a little scary.

Ah, Rich, don't be that way. I sing your praises, too.

The first place I ever saw Steve David race was in San Diego, he was running with Nigel Hook in the Lucas Oil Scarab...later that day they ran one of my V24 One Design batboats...I was extremely happy and thankful to both Steve and Nigel for running our boat and helping lend quick credibility to our new racing class with the APBA. Steve was impressed with the design, handling and all around performance of the boat, lending his assistance many times to us as we marketed the boat, even spending time with us at Lake X dialing in the hull and outdrive with the Mercury Racing Scorpion powerplant. I would assume that Nigel was equally impressed as he has been racing an Ocke Mannerfelt design (creator of the batboat) for quite a few years now.

I've met a lot of people in the offshore industry over the years...some great people, some as shady as they come, but none have impressed me quite as much as Steve David. Steve is an accomplished racer...offshore and in the unlimited hydroplanes, that much is inarguable...but what some people might not know is what a tremendous gentleman he is and how giving he is of his time. For a start up offshore manufacturer, I could have never imagined someone stepping up and being as great a mentor as Steve was...I am honored to know him.

It's been a great career Steve...I wish you the best in everything you do!

Steve was always polite and approachable in the Unlimited pits- and brought a degree of professionalism to the sport.
Thanks for the years of enjoyment and best wishes in retirement!
