Do it at least one time, you may never be in the position to do it again. Life is like that.

I know, what a dilemma. Look at my boat in a building in 45 degree weather or use it in 80 degrees.

I'm staying on Coral Drive in Cape Coral, so if anyone has any ramp recommendations, let me know. Thanks for all encouragement! Unless there is an early blizzard up here, I'll probably go for it.
Steel trailer or aluminum trailer?? if steel you will want to have the boat lifted off...salt water plays hell on steel trailers..

I've found that "MOSTLY" people (not everybody) that object to salt water are people that for "whatever reason" can't get or take their boat down to Florida and use it for an excuse, winter boating is phenomenal.

I usually take my boat to the Jersey shore, so salt isn't new to me. And I do have an aluminum trailer for that reason.

Sounds like you know what to expect, just one suggestion, it gets shallow in some places so pay attention to the channels and your GPS and you'll be fine.

It is absolutely worth it! As long as you flush and properly clean the boat, you won't have any problem!

So I picked up a job in Gaffney, S Carolina and headed south. I should be in Cape Coral Saturday. If anyone knows of a nice ramp in the area, let me know. Thanks for all the replies.
