Was a great boat, but when the wife said "I think we should get something bigger", I jumped at the chance and ended up in the Heat. :) Score one for the home team.

I've got that identical boat! We've had ours for 12 yrs, great everyday boat for the lake.

I've always said.....if you can drive a Hydrostream at 90 mph you can drive anything! I've owned two of them, a 17' Vector with a worked on 200 Merc that was about 240ish hp and an 18' V-King with a 2.4. that Vector was stupid fast and stupid dangerous. got 92 out of it once with a buddy holding the radar gun shooting it at a bridge pier as we went by on the barge canal. Stuffed it one night in the dark running a buddy in his 20ft Checkmate. After I blew past him is when I stuffed a wave and it snapped the seat off and I ended up in the back of the boat. Not sure how I survived that one but he couldn't figure out why I got to the bar after he did when I had passed him! Drove back on my knees pushing the foot throttle with one hand while steering with the other. Ahh the good old days! Shoulda kept my V-King though, boat was sweet. Current boat takes up much more precious driveway space and the Corvette won't tow it either!

I've had a few since this one... :)

1st boat was a 14' Beall (brand Chesapeake Bay built boat) wooden rowboat w/ a 7.5 Sears Gamefisher outboard... never forget, my Dad and I walked down to pier to go crabbing and I couldn't get motor started, so My Dad got in boat and started pulling , and puling, he got so pi$$ed off he unbolted it and threw it in the water at the end of our pier... Next day (after my Mom screamed at him for a few hours and he went in the beach to retrieve motor ) he bought me a new 9.9 Evinrude, I thought I just had the biggest upgrade of my life!!! 2.4 More Horsepower!!!!!

I told that story at his funeral 4 years ago!!

1999 Wellcraft 180 Fisherman Center Console with a 115 Evinrude. Bought the boat new from the Philadelphia boat show. Loved that boat. Wish I still had it as a second boat, but an old neighbor made me an offer I could not refuse.

My first boat at 12 years old was a 12 foot aluminum skiff with a 7.5 outboard and when it quit somehow my mom came up with a 15 hp merc and that is when I knew I was hooked on high performance boating as the thing hauled with the 15. If I remember correctly it was rated for 14 hp. Now almost 40 years and many boats later I am just over 1000hp and looking for more.
If you truly love boating it is highly addictive and expensive but just like crack you will find a way to pay for it.I tell my nephews that bounce around from toy to toy"buy a toy and get it paid for then buy another" and before you know it your toybox will be full and life is great

Mine was a 1981 Hydrostream V-King with a 2.4 mercury Bridgeport. The most fun boat I've ever had the opportunity to drive, a lot more fun to drive than a tunnel........
