Started with 16' checkmate, bought 25' checkmate, sold 25' checkmate and continued to use 16' checkmate then bought Chris' 38 Hustler. Have a blast with the 16' and the 38'.

I would highly suggest having at least 2 boats! The 16' is a blast @ 58mph and you feel like you are doing a 100! And for the price of 3 weekends of fuel on the 38' you can own one. When the river or lake gets rough its nice to have the big boat though, or if there is more than 2 people going boating. Then you need to have a friend or family member meet you at your destination with a pontoon or cruiser to carry the blender, grill, burgers, dogs, beach chairs, umbrella, tools, spare parts or whatever else you might need for a great day on the water!

29 Outlaw to a 38 Gun.
But had to get the 43 Portifino before the Gun to make the Other half happy!

HUGE difference between a 35 Fountain and a 35 Formula...take your time to figure out which boat will work best for you before you make that jump.

I went from a stand-up Jet Ski to my 29 Powerquest...then 35 Fountain....to 37 Active Thunder.

I think when people are talking about a boat being "too much" boat for them, they are usually too caught up in just the length. In reality the length is not one of the biggest issues around the docks. For instance take two boats:

42 Tiger with 525's vs 42X with staggered, blown, carbed, surging, stalling 1200's.....

Basically the same hulls but not even close to the same skill set needed to dock them.
