They say the bow flair gives lift. I can say from experience that in really big water that when you are diving into a big wave you can feel it stop from diving deeper into the water.

Right! we went out of Destin harbor july 2008 the day a hurricane landed in texas. It was the biggest water I ever saw , we were climbing waves and when we came over the top we would have water even with the deck but never stuffed!!

well when reggie copied the design off hydro stream he thought it would give the big boat more bow lift.. p.s. he also copied the pad off midnight express..

I thought the pad was an Allison design? ... from memory, and I've been wrong before!!!

rumor has it that reggie had a skank who would get up on the bow and look for turtles while reggie idled around,everybody knows how much reggie likes to eat turtle meat!

I read a long time ago it was a part of a broom stick glassed to the nose to make the boat longer for a race class.
