Tom A. 12-04-2013 03:08 PM

I was a dumb azz when I joined 11 years ago. I was in between boats (sold the 22 Donzi and was building the 29 Kryptonite) and couldn't come up with something creative so..... Tom A.

Little did I know there were a couple other Tom A.'s who are fairly well known in these circles!
For the record, I am NOT Tom Abrams! :lolhit:

abmotorman 12-04-2013 03:22 PM

I used to own an engine rebuilding shop in the early 90's. Saw the market change and got out at just the right time. Now, I'm in the electric motor business. Fyi, I call the boat Power Trip.

PONYEXP was a license plate I used to have on a Mach 1.
My other screen name is OVRMYHED - Over my head - which is based on the projects I undertake. I'll try anything once regardless of if it is beyond my current skillset. Any excuse to by a new tool!

Marginmn 12-04-2013 05:30 PM

I day trade the stock market for a living. When I first started trading in the mid-90's I had so little funds that I pretty much traded on margin every day.. At the time the stock chat rooms on AOL were the place to be so I chose a stock related handle for AOL that flew in the face of the experts who warned to not day trade or buy on margin. AOL only allowed 13 characters so Marginman was out and Marginmn was in. I've used it on the web ever since.

DYVMASTER 12-05-2013 06:09 AM

Well I am an avid SCUBA diver as well as enjoy skydiving from time to time..The origin of my name came many years ago when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up (I have since realized I never will grow up..just old) I was toying with the idea at the time to take my love for recreation diving and become a Commercial Diver I also have the intent to move somewhere tropical..live on a boat and maybe run SCUBA excursions from time to time..hence Dive-Master (the rating needed by PADI to do so) at the same time I was signing up for yahoo mail..Divemaster was taken so I settled for the Y..I love the Y :drool1: I instead took my love of boats and came topside and became a Merchant Marine and now make my living on top of the water rather than in the depths and still intend to retire somewhere tropical and continue to dive..SCUBA..SKY..MUFF :lolhit:

So the name has stayed with me and I use it for most of my social networks!

wannabe 12-05-2013 06:17 AM

I started trolling this site in 2002 and then joined 2003. Always an avid boater, owned a number of boats but always wanted to hear a pair of unmuffled Big V8's behind me so I picked the term wannabe. Bought the boat in 2007 on Ebay (from a fellow OSO'er). No longer a wannabe but kept the name.

redsled33 12-05-2013 07:55 AM

My screen name comes from the former name of my boat red sled a bright red 10 meter and 33 how many feet the boat is

scarab39 12-05-2013 10:48 AM

I started racing karts and motox as a teenager. When I was about 16 I decided that racing came first until I turned 40 then i had to grow up and stop racing. So I ran the number 39 on most of my race cars and when i hit 39 i sold the race stuff and bought a Scarab.
