Outerlimits builds gorgeous boats and they are hauling azz as well. I love all powerboats but OL's are my favorite V. Bullhead's OL is awesome itself! Maybe next year ay LOTO or DS OL will show up with some more of there hardware and take a shot.

Let's not forget that OL holds both records at Loto for the factory and pleasure category in a V.
Dustin's boat looks to be faster then both of those record setting boats.
Where are all the fast Fountains at that event.

Your honor, if it pleases the court, it is just as relevant as bringing up Fountain and/or the Kilo Boat in this thread about Dustin's most impressive OL!!

FWIW, I am originally a North Carolina boy and always been a fan of Fountains. I also think had things gone differently Fountain could possibly be building boats to the level of the Outerlimits boats of today. But, they didn't and they aren't, kinda sad. Fountains are still great old boats, but OL has attained a whole nuther level in modern design and technology IMHO. Dustin's new OL showcases that very well!

Dave

I would like to thank everyone for the kind words.
I feel privileged to be able to build such incredible boats for amazing clients.
It has always been our intent to build a safe and fast pleasure boat for our consumers.
We have also been very fortunate to have people like Doc Jansen and the entire Snowy Mountain team work very hard to win championships with our boats. We are very proud of their accomplishments and also feel honored to be involved.
As for a speed record, this is just not the most important thing for our brand. We do not feel it is in our best interest to spend valuable resources on an ego competition rather than re-investing in new models. Also not sure my wife would approve! lol
We are currently in the process of tooling a new 45' cat as well as a new 50' vee bottom, and have a substantial back log so we will stay focused on what is most important to the company.
Thank you all,
Mike Fiore

Great! Now go get your shine box and shine your outlaw.[QUOTE=daddy;4037524]
Agree!! All the "props" in the world to Reggie Fountain and his accomplishments, I have huge respect for him. BUT, go back and look at the pics of the OL again...this is an whole nuther league of boat. On top of that it is a "Pleasure" version and NOT a purpose built race boat, so the prior comparisons are not valid and belong elsewhere. Heck, show me a Fountain that comes close to something of the caliber of Dustin's OL (and most other recent ones I have seen)...Apples to Oranges!!
HUGE CONGRATS to Dustin, Mike and everyone at OL...you should all be proud of this boat!
"Apples to Oranges"? MPH is MPH.

good deal. now lets see a 170+ mph OL Vee. (que every excuse in the book)
once again, great numbers but nothing ground breaking like half of these people think they are
