When I was in Havasu a few years ago and saw a DCB up close I was blown away by the finish! Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Every little detail is perfect! Even the trailers are beautiful!! It was also a pleasure talking with Dave. What a nice guy!!

It all comes down to personal preference, I like my 36 Nor-Tech because of the styling and it's a great solid running boat, albeit a slower than most down at the lake. Now if I was going to buy something else it would be a tough choice. I've have always loved the lines of the Mystics, but the 388 Skater, Nor-Tech Roadsters along with the MTI's are all great choices. The DCB's don't make my personal list but their fit and finish is outstanding but not one of my personal favorites...

So the engine bay is all gel coat as well? Never new that, more impressive if that's the case.

Correct

They are all pretty bad ass in my opinion, I think Skater has done a great job improving their interiors over the last couple of years, certainly gets the most improved vote from me. In fact, I can think of several new builds out there that I would put up against any one of the competitors.
MTI-Skater-Mystic- are all race proven and are also beauttifully built for pleasure, pick your poison!

To the people complaining about Fit N Finish on Skaters, it really depends who rigged it. Think about how many leave Skater as bare hulls. All the ones that have come to us come as bare hulls. Skater rigging is very nice, I like to think ours is :) That doesn't go for everyone though.
A few shots at some of our rigging. Boat came to us as a brand new bare hull in 1999, in 2000 it looked like this. Not sure when the pics were taken, guessing 2001 or so.

And Id build a 368 with Saris Racing 1000s and #6 drives

Good thread. Owned 42 mti with 1075's and a 40 skater ss with 1200's. Loved em both. Both Randy and Peter are great to work with. The only real difference I would mention is at high speeds you had to work a tad more steering with the skater from 135 to 150 plus where the Mti felt like it was more on a rail. Hope that helps. U cant go wrong with either.
