it only has a value ( like others have mentioned ) if you are in love with it…..or if you have a donor boat that you don't like or has hull damage…..The last 3 boats i have bought or bid on 32 baja 94, 92 trip fountain 42, 37 trip AT ( got two bought under 25k ) I bid them at wholesale ( sell in 15 days type pricing) for the machinery and trailers, gave zero dollars to the hull…. ny thought if I have to part it out i can re-coup my investment through the machinery, and someone will alway give 5k for a de rigged 35 plus boat with interior….just my thoughts and value procedure…...

I bought a bare hull 1998 35' OE Cat W/trailer. It was never rigged, not a wire one or hole anywhere in the transom. Basically a new hull but sat on the shelf and never got rigged. The value wasn't ($0.00) but I did get the Cat and the trailer at a reasonable price. That was over 3 years ago and still plugging away at it. I figure the money I did not spend the last three years boating has just about paid for the parts going into this boat. The money I would have spent in the 3 years boating weather it be parts or deprecation on a new one i'm still even on the $$$$.
One thing we all know and can agree on, weather you buy a new boat, make a payment and watch it deprecate or a bare hull and rig it to your specs it cost a lot of money, every year you own it.
This is a pay as I go project so the balance when finished will be $0.00.
If you care to check the Cat out here is the OE project thread.

it's worth what someone will pay for it. everything has a value to it. if the boat is clean and all the interior parts, dash, cabin etc. are in the boat it will make an easy project for someone. if it requires motors, exhaust and drives and steering it's a no brainer for someone that has extra parts laying around. trailers are worth a good buck too. post some pics of the boat in question, that will get you a little more feed back, hopefully more positive. i'm not sure i would take someone's opinion on here, i would do what ever you feel is in your best interest and roll the dice, cant hurt. good luck, kevin
