I have 3 more to mail out tomorrow...My T shirt machine comes in this week! If I made boat brands do you guys think it would be shady? Really don't want to get sued over a $15 shirt.
Alternatively, there are several manufacturers that went out of business, and presumably, somebody somewhere owns the name/rights to each of them. A local t-shirt guy up here "bought the rights" to a defunct local dragway and has been printing/selling "nostalgia tees". They were on my must-have list at Christmas. |
I a laws wonder about guys painting logos and having them embroidered on stuff. I mean if a guy comes to me and wants fountian on his headrests I have a sop do them up and sew them on. I know that's different than making 20 shirts and selling them, but if you want shirts with you boat name and the logo of the company that made it I see people doing that all the time. They get jackets and what not.... I doubt they are having Carver or Searay making them.

Probably too long. "Hold on I'm going to do something I saw in a cartoon"
About getting sued. I own a carpet store and was making and selling Fountain logo rugs. This was when Fountain was still operating. I received a nice letter telling me to stop. I did. I sent the last two to Fountain instead of the intended customer. There wasn't any money in it, but It was fun to do. Most went to people on oso. JC |

I'm betting unless you strike up some sort of licensing agreement with the manufacturer(s) in question, it's asking for trouble.
