We would put on #6 drives but don't want huge power. Our current 40 Skater is fast enough if we ever feel the need.

I was thinking 800-900hp or so with some 33/34 props would be a nice accelerating boat with a top speed of 110ish.

like these

These are all just guesses. I would appreciate more "expert" input.

Waste of time/ money....... Just buy a 38 TS TG and have a 90 mph V bottom with good resale or just buy a CC. That way you have a boat for Florida as well!

What's the fun in that?

How about the experience of putting together a 40 Skater?

If you die with money you are still dead and your kids will just waste it anyway.

Let's build a boat !!

What kind of winter would it be if I posted

Or, send me your Recovery boat, and the $ you would have spent on this project and we'll look at building you a fresh '14 38 or 40 MTI w 700 or 1100s.. All new, all fresh… ...

Experienced performance V owners may find that comment insulting. Good luck with your project.

.

OrthoB,

since you already have a 40 Skater, hows about a smaller more personal cat, like a 32 Skater. I'm sure there are lots around to be refurbished:

We want to take our time. Look for deals and piece it together. I've never really "built" anything in my life. I always just go buy what I want.

Noli, I think I can find #6s for $25,000.
For one (1) used? you can get a pair of 7M's for about twice that probably less if you already have spare transmissions since they are part of the kit... I payed less than 50K back when I did my conversion and Rik included everything you needed including the 1350's... I would definitely look at them new versus used 6's. Jim
