Yes I would replace the 6x9 with 6.5". I would have angled the speakers in pocket back and up not forward and up. Put a set infront of the bolsters. That should still get you pretty good coverage in the cockpit. A couple of subs in the bench and you are set. Best if you do enclosed boxes, but free air will work.

Make sure you have the right power. For your 6.5" best to have 125% of the rms power for the speakers. So if they want 100 watts each get an amp with 125 watts rms output. For the subs go at least 150%. Also running three sets of 6.5" you will probably have to go with a 4 channel amp. Run two sets of speakers off one set of channels and just one off the other set. Not many of todays switching digital amps like 1 ohm loads. But this will give you the ability to add a set of speakers in the cabin or something later..

While EV 15" PA speakers work great for PA, not very good for use in a boat. They need big boxes, big power, and are not really designed for the environment. Depending on what EV driver you are using you are going to need a 4 cu.ft enclosure, and 800 watts of power at 8ohm. Not many boats have that kind of room in them, then you are talking about a 1600 watt amplifier to drive it. Yeah it would have great output if you had a boat you could mount it in.

i choose the amps that i did because they are the ones designed by wetsounds to work with the speakers i am gettin. i agree %100 with the over power of the speakers,but according to the company this is the best set up.

I don't understand this advice, why is this a good way to set it up? Wouldn't a 6 channel amp be better? Seems like one side of this 4 channel amp will be working very hard and the other not hard enough. And also if you have the space and $$ won't the sound be cleaner running amps at 4 ohms vs putting lots of speakers on each channel to get the ohms down and the power (and distortion?) up?

Yes a 6 channel would be great, but not as easy to find. A 2ohm load is not working hard for new amps that's what they are designed for. You won't hear the difference from .5% distortion to 5% in a boat. And distortion is only present if you run the amp to that point. It's all a balance of power, space, and cost. I run my whole system at 1.3ohm. There is no distortion in it, until I drink to much beer :)
