I have owned sport boats and also a 32 Chaparral Laser which was basically a cruiser with semi go-fast looks .. Wasn't very fast - but I do have some larger boat experience.

I really like the way cats look - but I am not looking to race one, want something bigger than just 5 people - possibly with cuddy's in the sponsons.. Don't want to wrench it anymore than I would a boat with a single 5.7 unmodded merc in it, and don't want to go over $20k for sure in purchasing.

Yes, I know I could find something beat up and needing a new transom, power, etc to likely meet my guidelines but I would prefer to get something that I could at least use while I rebuild.

To top it all off something like the Aronow 39, or maybe that elusive Wellcraft Cougar Cat (not the excalibur) are a couple that I have found that LOOK like they might meet my needs - but of course both are rare and at least the Aronow, is WAY over $20k...

This may be an unattainable goal - and if so, I can stick to V hull's.. Just thought I would throw it out there...

Thanks!

Doc

Man that red Chris Cat is sweet. I dare say but that Conquest deck has got to be one of the nicest looking cats ever. Right up there with Petes 36 . . . . timeless and legendary

Wonder how they run with Arnesons . . . . oh like say . . . the pair of ASD6's on my parts self

And your response was asinine.

Very obviously my post has made sense because a very good answer to my question (or incoherent rambling as you so wisely say) was provided in the form of the Chris Cat just south of me for sale.

If you don't like what I post, then stay the F**k off of the topic.

A buddy of mine has a Chris Cat with around 800hp per side with #5s and it cruises @95-100 without even breathing hard. Randy However the cockpit is not big enough for more than 5 or 6 people

LOL, I knew this was coming... you Texas Texoma boy's are so predictable. Congratulations on the Chris Cat, And no I will not stay off your threads. I just didn't want you to feel left out. I bust all my Texoma buddies balls. If you need any help with your new ride let me know, I'll come help out. See you on Texoma Doc and you better have a beer for me and keep a tow rope handy for me too or I won't be so nice next time. I'll be putting around in this OE Cat. That is if we ever get through wrenching on it!

VV: I ran www.texomapartypirates.com for quite some time (NOT lakepirate.com) ... I am absolutely happy to do anything to enhance the Texoma scene - and I apologize if I misread your response to my post and missed the humorous tone of it.. I'm simply not one who is afraid to ask questions.. Its how I've made my way through life for the most part.

I most assuredly will share any and all libations that I have on board with you or anyone else at Texoma.. I used to deliver Jello Shots via an RC boat to other boats around the cove at Deer Cove..

I'm very seriously considering rekindling the texoma message board I used to run since I'm going to have at least the Villain IV on the water soon.

If nothing else we can wrestle around in the sand some.
