VERY interesting..... So I am guessing Tempest somehow ended up with the mold for this boat as I do know from the owner (now) that they never produced anything but singles - and mostly turbines...

Thank you for the link Olli... Just deepens the mystery!

It is my understanding Kineo made the boats.

I do know for sure Wizeman Marine made the Marine Kit for the Porsche 928 engine.

I have a multi-page Technical PDF for the Engine etc.

Here are a couple of the pages in the PDF.

Cheers,

Dave

that deck always made me nervous I would hate to stuff one of those. looks to me like it would dive deep and fast . . . . not good. I suppose it would be a very unique and interesting boat for general runnin around though.

when you say turbine do you mean jet drive (like Berkley) or turbine engine?

It would stuff like a submarine and I would also hate trying to walk the deck after a beer or 10... Looks slippery and no rails...

Very few boats as unique though... Total space shuttle looking boat!!!

Glassdave - it was a true turbine engine - like a helicopter.. if you go to www.tempestyachts.com and click on the 27xpe it shows a video of the turbine spooling up.. pretty cool.

Dave,

The Porsche/Kineo boats with the 928 engine were Berkley style Jet boats. Pretty sure they were also made of Kevlar.

I have lots of different pics and info if anyone is interested. I also have a couple of friends that have some of the marine kits for the Porsche V8. One of them is using part of it for a retro tunnel boat project with a Porsche 16V V8 engine in it.

Cheers,

Dave

I am pretty sure these are some older pics of the "Ebay Porsche Boat" before it was fixed up a little in the last few years.
