Default Race Control

At the races is it possible to listen in on race control using a scanner? If so, what channel is it usually? Thanks.

I think they use VHF Channel 78A. (That's not an auto-racing scanner channel, but rather a marine VHF channel.)

A marine VHF radio will work. The channel is usually announced before the race and varies from one race site to the next.

If you're using a scanner, here's a chart indicating which channels correspond to which frequencies. The frequencies are in MHz.

We always used a private band for our races that was in the standard business frequencies. Usually if you stop by race com they will tell you what they are using.

Unless you look like a lawyer
