Default Bayliner vs Apache

I really like the cabin space of the Bayliner, but I have heard that the Apaches are good when the lake starts kickin up some pretty big waves, like 2-3 footers. I have heard that used Apache's are generally overpriced and have a lot of rot? The Bayliner seems like a much more efficient running surface, with a nicer fit and finish to.

Any other opinions or thoughts?

Way too many factors for a simple answer to this question.

Where do you typically boat? Bayliners like BIG water. They're laid up HEAVY with the best chop-gun and particle board construction on the market. If you're not dropping in at least 55hp, I wouldn't even consider going that route.

bayliner wins hands down, until you untie it from the dock, or let anybody else see you on it...

Apache's are actually modeled directly off of Bayliners, apache's are just a more entry level boat, hence the smaller cabin and less efficient running surface. Can't go wrong with either one, but if you really want to go fast, and kill big water while cooking lunch at the same time and not spilling your wine cooler definitely go BAYLINER

I have owned several boats and boat brands including go fast to cabin cruisers. And yes even a Bayliner that I bought at an auction. It was a Hardtop 2452. Looked like it would be good for fishing day cruising and overnighting
Just put in a low ball bid just for kicks and I won. This was an online auction and boat was only seen in pictures. When I won, I thought what have I done. Finally I decided to have it delivered to me in Florida and hopefully make enough in parts to cover delivery and the price of the boat. Price of the boat was next to nothing., So it arrives at my marina and a couple days later i get a chance to check it out. Have it on work rack and give it a good walk around. Outdrive and prop look ok. Tap around on hull and its ok. Board the boat and look around.Looks ok. just for kicks I turned on battery switch and look over electrical systems. ALL work except for 1 of 2 dome lights. This was actually stated in auction description. I took off dome light cover to remove bulb and it came on.. Now all lights seem ok. Next I opened hatch to see motor. No pics of it at auction. All looked good. Hardly any rust and new manifold/risers. Oil Looked new .Says merc 5.7 0n top. Next i thought I will just turn the key and bump the starter......Within 2 cranks the motor fired up. I was shocked and immediately turned it off. Got out and put on muffs and restarted. Let it run 20 min.. Temp settled to 160, idle 650 or so. ALL gauges working. Lets splash it. Took out and it runs great. WTF This is a Bayliner.. Over the next few weeks we take it out a few times and I even put a better radio and speakers in it. TOOK FOREVER to cut speaker holes in cockpit I was amazed at how thick the layup was. WTF... This is a Bayliner.I admit its not pretty but it was almost free. This is now our fishing machine and Bimini crossing boat. Sometimes I wish I had one of my go fasts boats back.. Till it starts to pour rain like it seems to like to do here in Florida. Now If I could just find me an Apache for the same deal......
