I've seen the record holding Fountain at Shogren within the last few years. To say it was a light layup is an understatement. It's so thin that at the speeds it ran, I'd be willing to bet that the sections of the V touching the water laid flat and I'm not talking about the pad.

If they (Reggie & Mike) really want to make a statement about their boats, its simple. get sterling, merc, whoever to supply 4 identical motors. Allow a period of time for setup and dialing in., freshin up the motors and run them and we will see who does what.

there is more than one fountain that runs over 170. I know at least this one ran 170 also in race trim 10 years ago. No one else besides fountain has gone 170 regardless. Everyone can run whatever power they want, when they want. How would you like it if you could only take 5 hotties out on your boat tuesday at 5 am and they all had to weigh 200 pounds. Lol. This boat raced for years and that said something. Reguardless

All Ol's go over 200 mph haven't you heard... The only reason Fountain still holds the record is because there is no radar gun that can measure the speed of an Ol. That's why we only HEAR about it...

I'd bet on the event not happening.

Looks like today is the day for Brian Forehand in the Outerlimits, to challenge the record!

Does not compute.
