Well we hit Tampa/St Pete today and I definitely enjoyed it. We got to see some dolphins and stingrays in the bay. Took the boat out to Egmont Key for a nice lunch while at the beach. Then did a little running around the area to site see. Tomorrow will be Daytona. Ive already been told the water wont be as clear as in the bay but Im still looking forward to it.

Yes it was. I will admit that I was a lil surprised at how shallow the bay is. definitely need to keep an eye on the color of water, depth gauge and GPS. Although, Im sure you learn the shallow parts real quick if you live in the area.

Ya it's crazy shallow and comes up fast. The intercoastal is like that too.

I think the deepest part of the bay is something like 30'.

Well we did Daytona yesterday. The minimal wake or 25 mph zones were a pain. Not to mention the chilly cloudy weather. Made it down to the Ponce Inlet but didn't go on the outside. It was rough and the gf was taking shelter in the cuddy. didn't feel like bouncing her all over the place. Definitely liked boating in Tampa Bay better. Now, heading to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow. Hope to see some of you guys down there.

Ya the west coast has a lot more boating to offer when it's rough out and doesn't get as rough as the east coast!

Im not too worried about trying the rough stuff. But, like I mentioned, the girlfriend was taking shelter from the cold in the cuddy and if she got tossed around in there, she wouldn't be happy.. then I wouldn't be happy.. LOL We might head back to Tampa on Monday after getting back from Ft. Lauderdale and Miami this weekend. Weather permitting.
