First thing they complain about is the heat, 2nd thing is the lower wages (I made $48 a hour in the union, then worked side jobs etc), 3rd they always say how great it was "up north"....which begs the question "Why did you leave?"......step 4 is "well up north we did it this way"........step 5 is your co-workers quickly telling you to STFU!

Back from my trip to the area. My have things changed since I first visited as a teenager from '78 - '81. Traffic is a complete CF!! I was able to find the old resort we stayed at back in the day. It was called the Eventide back then and is now called Pierview. The Pink Shell was really nice and they were more than accomodating. They upgraded our 1 bedroom suite in the Captiva Villa to a 2 bedroom, 5th floor suite in the main building when on Friday night the first of 5 in a row weddings kept us awake for most the night. The wedding band was good at least!
Wife needs her sleep, though. Did not make the trip over to the Cape as I didn't want to waste a day in traffic. I didn't realize just how crazy bad it is down there. Not the sleeply little beach town it once was! Appears the Lani Kai is a popular place on the weekends for boats to anchor just offshore and listen to the bands. Place is a boating Mecca! Saw everything from schooners to 100' + yachts and everything in between. There were always a ton of boats out in the gulf and in the intercostal. I hope North up in the Cape is less congested. Otherwise, as much as I like it there it would be off the list for retirement property. Too many people in too small an area.

It was also crowded with families on spring break. Schools more and more go year round so spring break is covering more and more of the calendar year. I thought spring break would have been over by now. Wrong! Oh well, the view made up for the traffic and congestion!

Yea, thought I needed to get home and take care of the farm. All it has done since we got home is rain. Had a dusting of snow last night. Change the oil in both tractors and gator that's all I have gotten done. When down and Vist Eddie Young @ Young Performance about rebuilding my motors. Got them on his schedule.
