Default EFI vs Carb

Hi all,
i am new to the powerboat indistrey before i uesd to race bikes and that world is a little more simple to this one!

the scarab i bought has a 502mpi in it , try to get a procharger for it but as soon as i was going to buy i figure out that you need to do tons on mods to get it running safely. so i ditched the project!
with that amount of money i was going to spend was worth geting a another engine with the same power.

as i was talking to you guys on this forum ALOT of you told me to get rid of the EFI system and go carb.

my question, if i do so what power increse do i get ? i go with two carb system or one ?

Read this. Some good info.

My opinion is your already an efi boat leave it efi. Depending on boost you will only need to tune ECM. If you want big boost your gonna need a ton of money involving good exhaust, new cam, maybe heads to make it worth while.

Either can make power. Read the thread. It has info. Efi will generally make as much power as carb. The power starts with exhaust, cam and heads.

alot of engine buliders told me, dont waste your money in cams and heads on the 502mpi first you have to do is go carb then you can do all the upgrades you want but first go carb!
the efi system specialy (plenuim and runners) on the 502mpi is not good for power upgradeds

Again. You haven't said how much power you wanna make.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...-computer.html

This thread shows that you can make 550ish with that intake in stock form. More if it is opened up.

How much power do you want to make? Then there is budget?

Then your intake will be fine. Next is what year is it or ECM do you have? If its tunable good if not then may just have to upgrade ECM which pop for sale

Ok. You'll need to upgrade the ECM I believe to a mefi 3
