There is literally zero room for speakers. Purpose built raceboat. We could get really creative, but there is always the chance she will come back out of retirement...and offshore racing ruins ALL stereos lol.
Sticking with the boombox route.

Stereos and speakers pretty much never get wet unless directly slashed on purpose. Boom box can be taken out of boat when not used so moisture when stored between use not a big deal. What about getting a nice high quality boombox with a cord and buy a power inverter for the cig lighter to power it? That is what I would do if not putting an actual stereo in it.

I remember someone made a portable speaker for beach parties running off a car battery. It was apparently super loud. I have not looked, but I am sure you can find it if you search on here. From what I remember it was pretty expensive like $700-1000 I think.

Thinking the 4-c batteries can't sound very good or loud.

I actually have a portable sounddock by Bose that sounds awesome. It plays loud for about 4 hrs plus I have a 2nd battery just in case! Has a remote, bought a Bluetooth adapter so I don't have to leave my phone on it in the sun.

Set it on the deck or just behind windscreen.. Sounds great.. Lil pricy but it's bose :-)

Oh and engines start right up!

That boombox is pretty cool though.. Can float with ya!

Sound docks work surprisingly well. Lots of my friends use them, but one our buddies used to work for Bose.

I run my Bluetooth direct to my amp. 4 channel 1000wrms RF d class. 4 6x9s off the front channels and and 1 10" off the rear. Run it off a deep cycle battery. It goes as long as I want to listen to it on a fresh battery. You should charge the battery when not in use though.

You could pretty easily build a boombox like that to run off your boat battery or an extra battery.
