The way the Kryptonite is laid out, a real stereo isnt really an option. Hoping something like this could be an alternative for sitting in the bay. Looks great, price is right, but 3in speakers make me nervous. Sound quality is a high priority. Anyone have one of these? How's it sound? Would like to hear about any alternatives to it as well.

Thanks!

An AC Power adapter on a submergible seems scary :) Can you get to a west marine to hear one in person??

"4 C Batteries" :p
That's what Im hoping. Honestly Im not too worried about the waterproof aspect, sound quality and durability is #1

how bout skip the stereo and just put in a Bluetooth receiver and amp/speakers? My next install in the Scarab will have no head unit and all bluetoothed off my smart phone. I do that now with shop tunes and just about all my listening. For working in the shop i was thinking about a pair of bluetooth headphones so i can still hear calls. As it stands now i use regular ear protected headphones with FM but prob is i cant hear the phone.

Theres gotta be something like this that goes right to line level outs so you can skip the head unit and go right to an amp. AudioFN should have an answer

Almost went that route with the Wet Sounds EQ. Never use a head unit for anything other than volume control anyways.

I can't see the sound quality being that great. There's always a way to install a stereo system, you just have to get creative!
