Human Nature we would all love your approach and to give him the best gift in the world.
However you run up against the endless money thing.
Gifts come and go
Your friendship is forever and can't be bought at any price.
Guess I feel sometimes it's the simple things that mean the
most and taking time and building memorys.
So buy him a Liquor Or Wine of choice and spend the
evening celebrating, talking shop etc. Your time is a gift forever.

For some one who has everything or can get anything he wants... get him a simple card.. saying something like..>> " you don't have a choice where you born, to whom you are born to, who you falling in love with, where faith, life and money (or lack of . lol ) takes you.. the only choice in life you have is in the choice of your friends.""" hand out your hand.... shake his hand as a friend, and tell him that the only thing is worth giving is friendship..... and I am sure it will be more appreciated than anything else you can buy....
