The most stupid thing a mechnic has said to you
 

Hi everyone - we have had a lot of mind numbing posts because of this long winter -- URGH!! So I though I would likewise start this for all to vent until the ice is off the water.

Ok from the title -- what is the most stupid thing a mechanic has ever said to you?
Rules:
You can't use the following:
1. They all run this way
2. Don't worry- it will take a while for the parts to break in
3. Just watch it and let me know if there are any issues

Being a general mechanic at an industrial site my personal favorite is I can't fix stupid

Ok this one doesnt include new ls motors. Discussion was about my 350s in my formula. Had it in the driveway working on it and a "mobile" marine "mechanic" pulled up to see if I needed someone to help. So I talked to him for a few mins and as he was walking away I said "hey what's the firing order for a 350?" He said "uh uh uh uh I'm not sure off the top of my head, depends on the year, marine or auto?" I said have a nice day. Lol

"This aint rocket science" meanwhile about every marine engine he built blew up

about 15 years ago i was on my way to a week long boating vacation,im towing the boat and the muffler on my truck exploded[long story]so i pull into the next town and find a muffler shop,i explain to the guy that owns the shop that im on vacation and sort of in a hurry and ask him how long will it take to install a new muffler,he sais,YOU MEAN YOU WANT ME TO FIX IT TODAY.needless to say i did not get it taken care of there.

" Um Um Um the mechanic must of got called away and someone took over for him to finish the job." As I'm on the side of the road with 2 of the 4 bearings were froze due to someone not greasing them. At a trailer place.

been a tech myself a lot of times my saying is, must be the nut behind the wheel..
