so you guys are making comments on a video that you really did not watch all the way,,right?
if you did watch it you would have seen the driver put on his safety line from 10-35 seconds, shows him wearing it again at 4 minute mark as well as 6.35 minute mark,
at around 45 seconds he accelerates and then cuts back and tells his passengers they are going to go fast and if anybody gets nervous to tap him on the shoulder,
he is working the throttles and is not been a show off and blasting through the waves,,,keeps checking on his passengers,,nobody is walking around and everybody is holding on ,,
he does not look like he even hit 70 mph,,maybe around the 6 minute mark for a few seconds,,
so let me ask you ,,are you bored? is that the reason you started this thread?

No way did this boat ever hit 95mph. Their cheeks would have been flopping around. The kid in the front is jumping on purpose because he is having fun and wants more air time.
As far as PFD's, I personally tell all kids on board (15 and under) when we are running above 55mph regardless of conditions. PFD's will be worn.
Please rename this tread. "please make kids wear PFD's"

So I was watching the 43 foot Donzi in the big surf video. After the video was over it pops up a bunch of related videos. I saw one title 95 MPH Donzi Run (or something to that effect). So being bored at work I watched. Come on people, why is commons sense lacking in these guys with big fast powerful boats? So if your wondering what my rant is about..... There is a kid in the back seat who appears to be 10 maybe 11 years old, not wearing a life jacket (problem number one). Second problem, no one is wearing jackets, but this is one of those arguments where I see both sides, so not really what I am ranting about here....... The third problem, I have with this video is the kid standing in between the dash. At these speeds how fast do you think the kid could have ended up with a mouth full of broken teeth, or maybe a broken skull. Maybe I am crazy or over protective, but I would NEVER allow kids of this age to stand in a boat at speed, let alone doing it without a jacket on. Granted the kid in the back is standing in a drop out side bolster seat.. To me this video is another example of high speed poor judgment. Rant Over.....

I see people are giving the "skipper" a "pass", because he is wearing a lanyard. Let's think about this. A lanyard shuts the boat down if you get pitched out. So he's thinking he might get pitched out, but doesn't think so far as to what happens when he and the other occupants of the boat hit the water.
If anyone gets pitched out at that speed without a life jacket, they will be so stunned or knocked out, they won't be able to swim, and will drown. I know someone who got a concussion hitting the water at 30 mph.

Without knowing if this is a twin engine (but by the size of the boat I am assuming it is) all it would take for an accident is for a gimble to break and that boat goes sideways. Stryker 28 crashed from that problem on lake Washington and killed the driver. just my $.02

it was strange at 3:57 the lanyard was there and then it looked like it just disappeared, but he did put it on at the start
I will get flamed I am sure, but I hate the mandatory kids in vest rule I think it is stupid and it was not around when I was a kid and everyone seemed to survive in spite of the NUMEROUS stupid things often done.......like bike helmets or skateboard helmets how did we ever survive in the past.....oh yea because we were either not stupid or learned from our stupidity.......kids today never seem to learn and turn into stupid adults
the only thing I saw "wrong" was about 2 too many people on the boat and that is just because over the years I have learned that you cut down the numbers on the boat and dramatically increase the overall fun.......nothing worse than 8 dude brahs on a wakeboat along with 3-4 girls and eventually you have several whiners and you have to drop a few off at the docks and tell them to hit the road......when you never should have drug half of them onto the water to start
but then again in this particular video it looks like they were out for a speed run (or a Miami Vice run as we used to call it) and that is usually when you do load up a few "riders" and make a run and hit the docks before they can complain or after they have managed to hurt themselves haha
lanyard looked to be on so throttles forward captain is what I say!...the rest is who cares maxillofacial surgeons need work too!

looked like a fun ride to me. i see nothing wrong with this video. people are to critical these days and throw too many hypotheticals into the mix. the man has a beautiful boat and seems to be enjoying it as he should
