Let me clarify one thing, my posts are NOT against the SMB team, they are certainly NOT against Matt Trulio. He simply reported was he was told and has since printed a retraction and apology. Kudos to him for being a man and showing the integrity to do so on a public forum. The bottom line is the business ethics of APBA. I have asked time and time again what is the benefit of having them affiliated with any organization and hear some answers that sound so great, but as 2 Trick Rick pointed out, fancy words dont mean squat. Some people are delusional to think that APBA is here to unify the sport. It will never happen and the only hope to that is if JC & Smitty get locked in a room and hash it out. JC kicked APBA to the curb some time ago for very valid reasons. All APBA does is take your money, and you receive a digital magazine(that is free anyways via their facebook fan page) I would much rather pay OPA the extra 150 per person as I also pointed out, OPA Racing, LLC is a for profit business and with out them, a lot of racers would have no where to race and producing a race is NOT cheap.
Yes the 43 Extreme/Unlimited number is huge, just as the #'s that SMB posted, however how APBA handled this matter, especially with no regard to signed contracts. Yes this should be about the incredible speeds posted by 2 quality and class act teams, but APBA has in essence, make it up as we go and create a new special event class so they take the check and go straight to the bank. When I buy a loaf of bread I at least get a couple of sandwiches out of the deal, when you pay APBA, all you get is a cancelled check. You can tell me about the 100 year tradition, hell 5& 10 had a 100 year tradition as well and they are out of business, times change and obviously the Qatar and Victory teams that have arrived in the states dont put any kind of merit into APBA, why should anyone else. Why waste the time to print a fancy ole rulebook if you cant even follow it yourself?
It is a shame that APBA's inept business practices have tarnished such an incredible feat by 2 great teams and yes a very fine built boat in the outerlimits

Working class...or teaching class.....Trulio comes from royalty he can't be working class. Cruising around San Fran in his Prius with a Hot Latte on his way to his class at U Cal. knock out a little meditation in the afternoon, just in time to deal with all of us offshore nut jobs on the east coast. What a life. I guess someone has to do it.
Time to get back to work.

Matt, you are the man, thanks for everything you do for all os us, Trent, your still NUTZ and Dan...come on, please take that post down or leave it up but, ain't right! Mark Wheeler, you and I still have to talk and the Board of Directors will discuss APBA this weekend and then bring it up with our teams and get their thoughts but in the end it's Smitty's call...He is the President. Congrats to Mike Fiore and Outerlimits and everyone involved. Did I leave anything out???

And just a reminder to everyone, Matt came all the way from California to the East Coast just to cover the event ....
He and Jason Johnson are the best in the business for covering this sport.
