Thanks, buzzkill. I was waiting for someone to take this to the tank.

All things considered, looking at a competent driver with experience, knowledge and understanding, what is the largest/longest load you would tow. I ask this out of curiosity.

It's one thing to have a piece of equipment and 30ft trailer with a total weight of 14/16k as compared to a 40'+ boat/trailer weighing in at 16k.

Maybe I should have prefaced my original post in an effort to deflect derailment and the traditional OSO gloom and doom.

Space Shuttle.

Stick airbags on it, and I'll tow the 747 with the Space Shuttle on top of it.

Me too. Once I get my performance chip upgrade!

I think the question he is asking is how much would you feel comfortable towing with your current rig. I am towing just over 13k now with a Duramax SRW. I would feel comfortable towing maybe a 42 Fountain and that's it. Although longer really isn't the issue it's weight and height for me. I was looking at a 43 BT with a radar arch that sat up on a nice trailer with EOH. I doubt I would have gotten comfortable with that but who knows after dragging a 38 ZX for awhile I'm sure the BT will be a breeze. But for now my 38 is about it.

Towing is easy with a SRW truck and a heavy trailer until things go wrong. A trailer or truck tire going away can get pretty exciting. Overkill is always better.

I don't think I'd go more than about 13K lbs with my SRW Duramax crew cab.

When I do need to pull, I pull a 2006 388 on a C-channel Steel Myco, ~10,000 lbs with a 2006 F350 6.0 PS SRW, only really had a 1 long pull from SC back to Fl, and it pulled it no problem down I-95 at 80 mph, and stops on a dine, Myco has 3x discs....

I bought a F650 for my 19' STV. You can never be too safe!

I bought a 13' ram 2500 with a cummins.. Around here I am towing a 25' tandem dually trailer with a 16,000 machine on it. The trailer stops the truck and tows great...
