Not sure I would pursue an Imperial 270-XL Cuddy Cabin Sport project. Wouldn't mind a Squadron XII 27 for lake use though.

If it sells anywhere near the “starting bid” of $2,000, that’d be a fun project. Not quite a Cigarette, Squadron or Magnum but still, a nice looking ride.
(I feel envious seeing these things advertised in the U.S. I’ve done the import thing 3 times now and it’s getting more expensive every time!) RR |

Years ago a redneck buddy of mine was in a pub when a guy walked in wearing a cigarette jacket.
As soon as my boy had a chance, he quizzed the jacket wearer about what kind of cigarette he owned. The guy replied that he actually had a Baja but it was the same thing! Once my buddy stop laughing he educated him on the difference and told him he should not wear that jacket anymore :-)

I had a closer look, he’s also got Skater, Apache and Corvette up there. Wonder how much he wants for the wall? 🙂

We played soccer with the Mexicans in the camp and thereby got protection from the Haitian and Cuban gangs in the camp. One middle-aged fellow that was transitioning from a 5-year jail sentence, due to drug charges, to being deported back to Colombia told me that he had a Midnight Express and a Cigarette Cafe Racer in Florida which his older brother was a caretaker of. He invited us to his place in Florida since he was expecting to be back there in a couple of months. My buddy and I didn't go to Florida until a decade later and by then we had enough solid friends who had nice boats there. No need to hang out with the Escobars' or the Tony Montanas' in the Florida boating community. |
At some point, you and I need to share a few beers and stories!
PS, see you one, raise you one!

I speculate that the guy could have been one of the up-and-coming members of the Tijuana Cartel in Baja Norte. I bet he got a Top Gun eventually.

My heart goes out to friends and family of the victims of the recent tragedy involving the “Titan” submersible. Noticed this ad on Facebook, based in Australia. Seems to be a genuine ad. Price is Aussie dollars (approx 800K USD) https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a8a1b4dcd.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...171c0fd3c.jpeg |
Hey rak, i don't think your post is inappropriate, don't sweat it.
However,I noticed that sub is numbered 002 and therefore posting a video of captain scuttles' indestructible the 2nd, that might be inappropriate, or at least in certain circles. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxrTSg4CK...CSPLumiGmTRLBq |
If I was a few yrs younger, I’d be all over this!

It’s interesting that the new OBs are now big enough and strong enough to power a REAL 30’ vee bottom.
That was always my thing that, I knew that to go from my 24’ Sonics and now my 25’ Checkmate, w/twin OBs (2 strokes) to anything enough bigger to be worth dealing with, meant 30’ as a minimum, which I knew meant loosing 10 mph. Which I wasn’t willing to do. Now you can bolt a pair of 450r’s on a 30’ IO conversion and run the 80 mph I’m used to! It costs you a $100k to do but, 2 yrs ago you couldn’t do it at all! I like it.

GORGEOUS Cary! Always liked those boats. Again, we’ll done sir! Have you seen my new favorite T shirt? Says: ”You bought yours, I built mine!”.

Love that quote Gary. Yeah the 2 stroke 300xs Mercs I ran the first time on my heavy old 30 v bottom were ok but the 300Rs V8 4 strokes were better. Heavier wasn't too bad because they made more torque which is important with old boats...They only ran 2-3 mph more. I paid 50k brand new in 2019..for those. The 2 strokes were 36k a few years prior. Both great 20in mids Sportmaster lowers...I struggle and love lots of different setups, but enjoy smaller single 70mph rig with more room now.

CoolAzz retro restoration . Power ? Speed ? Cool Factor a 10 |

Totally agree on power.
Not everyone gets it. Thats the main reason I’ve never gone over 25’ for my twins. At that power, size and weight, at WFO (80-ish), flying it on the drain plug, it’s still hair on fire, flyin an Allison fun! Any bigger and that all changes. W/my power. W/the new motors, that all changes! Beyond my means but, now you can bolt on a pair of 450 Hp motors, self contained, w/a warranty, be 1000 lbs+ lighter, a couple hundred more HPs than when new, and have the space of a 10’ bigger boat! I think you should buy that 28 for your next project 😂🤓🤣🤪👍🏻😎
