Don't know squat about the motors, but that boat was listed on craigslist a week ago for a lot less than the boat trader ad.

Just looked myself and didn't see it either. I'm 99.999% sure it was that boat on the Baltimore or eastern shore cl and the price started with a 4.

Don't see pictures or black intakes . Tall decks without tall deck specific intakes will have spacers and prob a slip collar distributor .( although I once modded a hei with a mallory collar and blended spacers just to throw peps off )

The intakes on 540 bull dogs will be a thicker intake, they didn't use spacers.

The bulldog had a black dart intake on it, also had front race mount.502 500hp had the blue intake .with this boat being a 2001 i doubt those are the oe engines unless the mfr had a set of older bulldogs laying around and not the newer ones with the serp belt set up..

I talked with Steve Stepp Sunday about it and he said that he did not remember that exhaust on a 540 at all.
The Bulldogs had the same Gil/Merc exhaust as the regular carbed HP500.

I'm so confused. Is the conclusion it does or does not have bulldogs.

No way to tell for sure without serial numbers or closer examination.
