They don't to me ! Wrong exhaust, black intakes. I asked the salesman for the serial no. off of the engines and he said the battery's are dead and he is not going to mess with it. And if I cant tell buy the picture sorry about you luck.
I wonder who owns it and if they no how well there boat is being represented?

Quick google image search provided a couple images of 500 Bulldogs with black intakes. I am guessing the manifolds had to be replaced.

Seems like a decent buy other than rough looking power?

You need the serial #'s off the engines and then call Merc Racing they will tell you if they are Bulldogs or not...

They have the thermostat oil filter heads and look right other than the black intakes. Could be clones but were done pretty well if they are.

The thermostat oil filter heads are same one's used on the 502 HP500's, hence he needs the serial #'s to truely verify...

I just drove by that boat today, I do know that boat was built w/540 Bulldogs but the black intakes do throw you off. I'll be over that way again this week and I'd be happy to stop in and get a closer look for you. Ray (notda1) will probably chime in I think he knows more about this boat.

Why would 94 hr engines need new exhaust??? A lot of rust and what looks to be salt residue on engines as well. May have had to change the intakes as well.
Also that EMI short riser exhaust will probably revert water.
Bulldogs used tall deck blocks. They could be Bulldogs, but who knows. They could be regular HP500's with Bulldog decal flame arrestors.

I looked at 3-4 boats for sale with bulldogs and they had blue intakes. Maybe it a year change thing. But they all had stainless risers.

I'm hopefully delivering my cig to its new owner up that way and wanted to stop buy and look at it. But with a salesman that wont even help out a prospected buyer ,screw it!! I'm going with the first boat I liked!!!

I talked with Steve Stepp Sunday about it and he said that he did not remember that exhaust on a 540 at all.
