As the days go by we are more and more ready to make the switch. Also excit d about getting something that needs a little work so I can change things to my personal likings.

Pete280 09-07-2014 10:14 AM

I'd take a look at the Marlago and Dakota's, tons of 35-36's out there to choose from, very well made, no wood to worry about and I think they are a good mix of comfort, speed and fishability.

I want to come down to a 30'-32' I think with the CC

I talked to my buddy last week who recently made the switch.....38 TS TG to 30 Jupiter twin 300 Yamahas. Loves the shade, ridiculous warranty and long service intervals but one complaint was boat only runs 64. His comment "I'm all done with I/O's".....he had a Pantera and a Donzi before the TG. He bought all of the boats new and settled on the Jupiter 30 because he got a deal on it, I think a triple engine 34 was what he was really looking for.

Nate5.0 09-07-2014 11:12 AM

I am am only running about 64 as is with I/O's so no big change there lol

Just pulling into the driveway with mine now, and I'm glad I made the switch.... Conversations with guests are possible at idle, if you're into that sort of thing.
Cleanup will take me 15 minutes and it'll be ready to go next weekend, and I'll be able to use it later into the fall with less worry about freezing/cracking blocks and manifolds.
My only gripe is 57mph, but I should get 2-3 more with a Tempest over the current Mirage +.
The wife's gripe is the bow filler cushion isn't done because we've been using it all the time. She'll survive, I'm getting a new prop first!!!

Over the past two weeks we have taken a 80 mile round trip (overnight stay at PIB in which we slept in our CC cuddly) in nasty Lake Erie (no less than 4 - 5 footers each way). Spent the rest of Labor Day weekend day tripping to Sugar Island in the Detroit River. Have taken it up to Sin Bads (northern part of the Detroit River) for dinner this past Friday evening with a couple of friends on board. The boat was left in the heavy storms, uncovered while we ate dinner... then just finished up two days of Patrol Work at the OPA races in the Detroit River, where I towed in 1 race boat on Saturday, 2 on Sunday. Also worked as a sweep boat, clearing debris out of the course. All while burning 100 gallons. I absolutely love our CC and have not regretted making the switch in any way.

I myself made the switch from a 31' cat that ran 95mph to a 36' CC with twin 275 Vrods. I love it.

Were you out by turn 3 yesterday on the Detroit River? If so I saw your boat as we were heading out of the wet pits for race 3. Good looking boat!

Yep, that was us. Thanks, I think I seen you. We were next to the Customs boat.

We actually had 2 Concept 30s as Patrol Boats yesterday. Mine the White, Green and Blue and Showtime83 (Matt) with the White and Multi Colored Graphic.

Actually, he was working on plans for a much bigger Go Fast boat, think Magnum style. That may still come to a reality .......I know there have been some conversations with the family for a well known builder to modernize his ideas a bit and then produce it.

If it happens, it will be just another Aronow surprise for the boating world, like Formula, Donzi, Magnum, Cary, Cigarette, Squadron XII, and USA Racing were. The man was always thinking ahead of everyone else for sure.

It has been said, OUTERLIMITS will see that the project Mike was working will come to market .
I was as the factory yesterday and the hull plug is near completion.
I look forward to the performance of this new boat as I believe it will live up to the OUTERLIMITS standards of performance.

Cant believe some of the bickering about this. Fiberglass Pontoons? Seating for skanks...and other farm animals. I/O's, clip-ons, I'm Xkts faster than you....Really?

Love mine...does many things well. Practical, easy to trailer, insure, clean, maintain. Plus, the walk to get to the anchor doesnt involve stepping thru windshields, cabin hatches, or a slippery deck. Not a bad thing for some, but us old, broken bodied people appreciate.
The "No upholstery except for bean bags" approach is workin out better than awesome. Throw the BB's in the console, hose'er off, (self bailing)..done. Boat was in the water all week in Va, not 1) drop of water was in bilge when I pulled her out. Did I say easy to maintain?

Occasionally we will take another couple out with us. It doesn't matter if I have 1 or 10 people on my boat, the first one that uses a grab rail to pop the top off of their beer is the first one to get thrown overboard... Not sure how many CCs you've seen or what the water cops have where you boat, but I don't think anyone has ever mistaken my boat for the sheriff or Coast Guard....

/\ Agreed. Same situation here family-wise. Love having my Yellow Lab out with us (most of the time). Last line is funny...combination of my boat & S/T T-shirt had a CG AUX Capt thinking I was Sea/Tow last week.

Nice boat, Low Psi.

Sorry to interrupt....carry on.
