I will private message information to you for a 41' to Sea Trial in Buffalo, NY. as soon as you like.
You will understand and see for your self why The Apache's remain The boat to own.
You may also contact Mark McManus, The Apache Factory @ 239-454-1114.

Adam, Why would you look to these size boats to compare? Wouldn't it be a more fair comparison with the 41-43 size range? While I agree the new hulls are lighter and faster than the old heavy straight bottoms.... There are pros and cons to both I believe. When it is 5 plus true waves those fast boats won't be running circles around the old straight bottom--- not saying they won't do it and with less power-- but I don't think they will pass.
And yes some people like and will pay for old school....

I picked these size boats because with the current market you can go buy these boats that are 10 feet longer than an Apache and run the same speeds or faster with less power, which means less maintenance, and on top of it, most of them also have a full cabin. Hell, I like my 50 Nortech but technology has even advanced since that bottom was designed and Outerlimits can most likely build a 60 footer that would outrun my boat with the same power.
This thread is about what a 41 is worth, so as a buyer, why restrict yourself.
I think what always kept the resale up on the 41's until recently was the fact that if you wanted a full stagger, #6 boat with big power, you either paid $200K for an older Apache, or dished out over a half million for a new stepped bottom boat. Now, with the market the way it is, you can go buy those newer technology boats for under $200k, so what does that do to the value of the Apaches? I know my Cig 42X with 1200's and dry sixes with a full cabin ran over 120mph and ended up bringing $150k........
Another common theme with these Apache owners is that their parts are worth their asking price, and these guys price their old carbureted blower engines/drives like its still 1995, come on $75k or $80K for a pair of 900's. Those will still be for sale of OSO when something new replaces the internet. Well I hate to tell them but here's what the parts are worth in todays market:
Dry sixes with gimbles $40K
Used 1200's with headers and trannies $40K
Trailer $5
That's only $85K, so what's the 30 year old hull worth is the magic question?????
And to really stir some feathers here, I think an equally powered Saber would kick Apaches A$$ all day......

Not sure why you quoted me regarding Pier 57 raising prices on inventory but I have been aboard a 41 Apache, albeit it was a tired 41 Apache. Boat was fine, but we weren't blowing through 5 ft waves at 80 mph. That being said, I left the next day on a 43 Nortech and it rode like a Cadillac back from the Bahamas.

Part of the problem is that all the race footage you see from a helicopter is from 30 years ago, when nothing could keep up with an Apache, even in calm water, BUT THAT WAS 30 YEARS AGO. Now they don't race in rough water, and they don't film the races from a helicopter, so there is no new footage, it doesn't mean that the new boats cant do it. Go on youtube and search for rough water footage from the last couple of years and it doesn't exist, I don't care what manufacturer you look up. Here is footage from 2010 Miami Grand Prix, I was personally there at the Fontainebleau, it was huge water, and I think any of the super vees or cats would have kicked blown an Apaches doors in. The new boats just make it look so effortless......
