Limits the amount of TQ the drive experiences.
Pre set (custom) it to only send 500tq to the drive and the drive will never experience more . Think of it as a clutch between the drive and motor that slips to protect the drive as it come in and out of the water.
There are race teams running it now with great success.

not useful for just the horsepower problem but will save a broken shaft or something wave jumping. And you will have to maintain it by taking the motor out . Great for racing though for sure. You still will be doing the same amount if maintinence on your drives i bet

This is why you'll get some guys who boat on a small lake, can put 750HP thru bravo's and go a couple hundred hours before hurting one. Then you'll have another guy, taking out bravo's with 525's, on a rough body of water.
The man who developed these, was routinely breaking #6 drives, with turned up 700SCI's. Yes, #6 drives. His entire reason to buy that boat, was because it had #6's, and he likes to run the boat hard. After breaking them, and the insane amount of money spent to keep rebuilding them, he started development of these, and installed them on his own boat. Since installation, he has not hurt a drive, and believe me, he has tried.
