It's kind of a no win arguement
Except at almost every Nascar event there are fans in the middle of the track!

We could organize our own start time and route.

Say 11:00am central time, have a pre-planned route we all follow together. We could even wait at each marina till everyone has their card, and leave to the next one together.

I've run this format several times in cars and snowmobiles. I can understand why a promoter would change to this format. It's still plenty of fun and there is no reason in the world you can't team up with other boats and go out as groups.

As for that video....Holy Chit....that was the dumbest thing I may have ever seen. I don't care if the dude has more wheel time than Moses that fly by should never have happened. In fact, **** loads of wheel time only makes him look like more of a a$$ for doing such a move.

There is one guy who truly has more seat time than any one else on earth in any kind of boat...John Tomlinson. Never ever would he drive, let alone allow someone else in a boat that he was in, drive the way that boat did in the videos.

He sure did. And he also send me a very pleasant (sarcasm) PM telling me how he wasn't going "that fast" and the video made it look closer than it was and I was there, etc.....

But I agree with Nate 5.0, I am sure this video/fly by was hardly the straw that broke the camels back. I'm sure it didn't help matters either..

Perhaps after a few years of no incidents they will be allowed to switch back to a traditional format - without the trophy dash to the first card stop of course. I hope so anyway.

Did they lower the entry fee? I hardly see the point in paying top dollar to run in a poker run if I am doing it at my leisure, I can do that any day of the week without the cards. The party will be great this year as always, next year remains to be seen but I'm betting that next year see's a ton less people all together at this event without a change to the format.
